Charles B. ?“Chuck?” Brockhurst died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, July 4, 2004 after a lengthy illness. He was born on September 20, 1935 in Toronto, Canada to Louis and Isabel Brockhurst and had a brother, Bill and a sister Elizabeth. He is survived by his wife Eleanor ?“Ellie?” and three sons, Bill, Ted and his wife Beth and Jim. Also survived by his much cherished grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob and Ryan.
Chuck began his career in Toronto in the Home Office of The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company(Manulife) in 1954 and retired because of illness in 1992. He was in sales, hiring and training in branch offices in several Canadian cities before transferring to the United States Division in 1962 and was Brokerage Manager in San Diego, Indianapolis, Minneapolis and Phoenix.
He was involved in many industry organizations and was past president of several including General Agents and Managers Association and Chartered Life Underwriters.
An avid golfer, Chuck belonged to several clubs over the years and developed many friendships. He was also involved in many service clubs and was President of the East Phoenix Exchange Club.
Even with all the suffering and pain he will be forever remembered by his family for his feisty spirit, big heart and generosity.
