Dear Owners of Serra Mesa,
I am an owner of a property in Serra Mesa and am also a San Diego real estate agent. I am looking for anyone who has good information, especially something printed, about the original plans and property style names of the ranch homes built around Mission Village Drive in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
My research tells me there were five or six floor plans. I believe the names were:
The Bahia
The Del Mar
The Acapulco
and I don't know the others.
I am trying to determine which floor plan I own and want to be able to talk to some of my neighbors and clients about their properties. They are also curious! Everyone wants to know how the development got started, and not a lot of people know the original names. I know some of you are original owners, so anything you can share would be helpful.
My guess is that these homes will be the pricey ranch homes of the future. They're built to last and are very classic. Knowing the history of a house gives it added value, and it's fun.
Let me know if you know anything about this part of Serra Mesa in particular. I think mine is the Bahia.
Thank you!
