I'm concerned about our litter problem.
The 4th Street Business Association has undertaken the expense of providing trash recepticles (and emptying them as the city won't do it) on 4th Street between Cherry and Junipero. And this helps some. However, daily one finds whole food packages, candy wrappers, and cups strewn on the sidewalk.
Is anyone interested in creating a "Keep it Clean" type of campaign? I think if a strong anti-litter message were getting out through schools, city agencies, stores and workplaces, we might improve the situation.
