General Membership Meeting
March 5, 2008
Sunken Gardens

President Jeannie O?’Grady called the meeting to order at 6:05 PM

Officers Present:
Jeannie O?’Grady, President
Gary Orthner, Vice President
Bill King, Secretary/Treasurer
Ginny Lomagno, President Emeritus
Officers Absent:
None

Members present: Representatives from 10 member businesses, Andretti Green Promotions, Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg Volunteers, City Council Members (Kennedy, Dudley), SPPD.
(over 40 attendees total)

1. Introduction of members and guests.
Special welcome to Andretti Green Promotions and Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg volunteers.
Thank You to Red Mesa, Chick-Fil-A, Carrabbas and Orange Blossom Catering for refreshments and a very special welcome to Sunken Gardens for hosting our meeting.

2. Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg: Craig Campbell, Andretti Green Promotions, welcomed the volunteers who will working in the ?“Inside Information Services?” booths, sponsored by the 4th Street Business Association at this year?’s event to be held April 4-6. Mr. Campbell also provided an overview and schedule of activities. This year?’s event will be coordinated with the Festival of States parade and also the American LeMans series raceweek events. Both the American LeMans and IndyCar races will be televised on live, international television.

3. Officer Ray Merritt, SPPD gave a brief Community Police Officer (CPO) report.

4. Committee Report: Advertising Campaign
President Jeannie O?’Grady led the discussion on advertising and presented information on
advertising in the St. Petersburg Times. Discussion followed on the effectiveness / return
on investment for printed media advertising verses other forms of advertising/awareness
the Association, including content development of the Association?’s new website that was
developed last year. The committee will propose other advertising opportunities at a future
date, once membership has increased enough to cover expenses.

5. Beautification Committee: Vice President, Gary Orthner, reported that he has inspected the
lighting in the 4th Street Business District signs and is obtaining quotes for repair.


6. Secretary?’s Report (Bill King)

The January 2008 meeting was held at Creative Mortgage Lenders and featured election of 2008 Officers.
Minutes from the meeting were distributed with the printed newsletter and are available on the Association?’s website at:

Mr. Landsman also advised that reminder invoices for 2008 membership renewals were
being mailed out to the 18 active members from 2007 who have not reviewed for 2008.
