SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL GRANT (Nov 26 03)

A GRANT FOR ROSA PARKS SCHOOL

We learned yesterday that Caltrans approved the second grant application we sent in for Safe Routes to School. The earlier one ($430,000)was for street improvements near Euclid School as part of a Safe Route to School design, and now we've bagged a second grant ($425,000) for street improvements near Rosa Parks School.

City Heights owes a big THANK YOU to Lara Evans and Marlon Pangilinan of the Planning Department for crafting strong, persuasive applications that could win. We also owe a double big THANK YOU to Patty Vaccariello who pushed these projects with unyielding determination from concept to completion.
