Mr. Jackson began singing at age seven years old, with his mother and father, Leroy and Mary Kate Jackson, in his church choir, at Triumph Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan. He continued to sing through elementary school and high school for talent shows and anywhere else that afforded him the opportunity to sing. His love for music has never waned, and is as much a part of him as breathing.
He has worked in several musicals and various stage productions. Among those he has worked with include: Mr. Rudy Hawkins, Composer; Tony Award Winning choreographer Mr. George Faison; Mr. Alvin Alley; Ms. Judith Jamison; the Five Blind Boys; Ms. Tremaine Hawkins; Ms. Stephanie Mills; Ms. Diane Ross and Ms. Aretha Franklin.
Armond has toured with the cast of the, “The Devil Made Me Do It,” “Mama I want To Sing,” “Harlem Nut Cracker,” and “Oh Holy Night 2000 and 2001”. He has also been the featured soloist for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, at the Michigan Opera Theater. A former member of the Rudy Hawkins Singers (Winner of the Michigan Music Awards for “Best Choir of the year 2001), Armond has also appeared on the TBN “Praise the Lord” show out of Chicago.
In addition to singing Armond has modeled professionally and has been featured in the following publications: Time, Sports Illustrated, People, Ebony, Golf, USA Today, and Essence, for AC-Delco.
Armond has released his debut CD entitled “Blessed” which may be purchased in Detroit at Gods World Records and Simpson Records.
