May 3, 2004 Adair Park Community Empowerment Assoc. Meeting Minutes


The May 3, 2003 meeting was called to order at 7:05pm. Ms. Davis opened with prayer. All guest and new attendees were recognized.
The April5, 2004 minutes were read, approved, and accepted.

Old Business/New Business: Major Ernest Finley (Zone 3 ) Commander, Presented a progress report for Adair Park. He also announced new patrol patterns for our community. He encourages all residents to become directly involved in the Community Watch Program. Residents requested more park patrols in that the City Softball Leagues are about to start. Treasury Report: The treasury reported a balance of $175.00.

Committee Reports: The Community Concerns Committee reported that a community clean-up project will take place on Sat. May 8, 2004 from 9:00am-2:00pm. Please meet at Adair Park II. Also on Thurs, May 6, 2004, Dr. Richard Laub, Director of the Masters of Heritage Preservation Program , Mary Ann Eaddy, and the Masters Class, will present the Adair Park Historic District Guidelines. This group painstakingly reviewed Adair Park house by house to help rewrite the Historic Guidelines for our community.

Speaker: Dr. Arthur Ferdinand (Tax Commissioner, Fulton County). Dr. Ferdinand spoke on the many programs that his office has to offer. He explained how property is assessed. He introduced a program which allows an individual to create an account to pay their solid waste bill and or property ad valorem taxes via the Senior & Citizens Property Tax Savings Account at Citizens Trust Bank. For more information in regards to this program call 404-730-6210. He entertained questions from the membership and offered advice in regards to the concerns form the membership.
