Adair Park Community Empowerment Assoc. November 8, 2004 Minutes

The November 8, 2004 APCEassoc. meeting was called to order at 7:05pm. The meeting was opened with prayer. All visitors and first time attendees were asked to introduce themselves.
**********************Old/New Business**********************************
There wasn't any old business discussed.
New Business: The election of officers will be postponed until the February 2005 meeting. Mr. Terry Stanhagen of the Waterford Development group, LCC presented his proposal to build a house at 670 Lexington Ave. He answered questions and concerns from the membership. He received a vote in favor from the membership to build the house at 670 Lexington Ave. A letter from the APCEassoc. was written to the Atlanta Urban Design Commission in support of the project.
*************************Committee Reports******************************
The Community Concerns Committee reported that an audit of existing rooming houses will be taken in Adair Park. If they are not licesened, they will be closed. Atlanta Police Dept. will be documenting vacant houses in Adair Park.

Mr. Terry Stanhagen of Waterford Development Group, LCC presented his proposal to construct a house at 670 Lexington Ave.

Fulton County Commissioner Dr. Nancy Boxhill addressed the membership. She stated that Senior Citizens need to sign up for Senior Exemption for their taxes. She also explained what services Fulton County Government are responsible for such as: health services, welfare services, library services, county parks, court systems, jails, the arts, and animal control. (The City of Atlanta is responsible for Police and Fire Depts. ect.. She also stated that if you have a rodent problem, please call 404-730-8226. Dr. Boxhill encouraged our Seniors to take advantage of the free services that Fulton County offers to them. For more information on the services please contact Fulton County Government.
****************************Announcements*****************************
The deadline to submit request for our Toys For Tots drive is November 26, 2004. We need volunteers to help pick up the toys, sorting , wrapping, and distribution. A volunteer sign up sheet will be available at the December 6, 2004 meeting. Adair Park resident Casey Walker announced that she has launched a new website for Adair Park.
