5. City of Berkeley Police Update:

Officer Rittenhouse was unable to attend, but Cheryl Wells, BPD Supervisor of Communications was present to address questions about contacting police dispatchers. Officer Luttrel was also present to address police-related questions, and to give some driving tips.

6. City of Berkeley Update:

Denisha Delane was present to hear our City-related issues, and to make several announcements about City activities, including: Earth Day announcements, A transportation Manager Meeting held on May 2, and a Monitoring Workshop held by Black Elected Officials at Merritt College on June 1. She also informed us that there are several vacancies in City Commissions (i.e. Telecommunications and Youth Commission). She suggested we consider getting involved.

7. New Business:

a. Adjacent Neighborhood Issues: Ron Casimere received a list of neighboring groups from Thomas Myers. We should get together to discuss issues the neighborhood groups have in common, and need to address on a wider scale. The suggestion was made that the first meeting include everyone, but if we have a large group meeting like this, we should ask the City to provide a professional facilitator to pace the meeting, to keep it on track. At this meeting, we can form a subcommittee, consisting of a few representatives from each group that will meet quarterly.

b. A question was raised about the Community Action Team Town Hall Meeting, and the results of the CAT survey. The results are not yet complete, and the Town Hall meeting is being scheduled. We will be informed when if will be held.

c. Block Party: The first block party planning meeting will be help on Wednesday, 4/17/02 at Ron and Ladelle's house. All were invited to attend.

8. A motion was made to cancel the next meeting (Scheduled for May 8th). Passed unanimously.
Next Meeting is scheduled for June 12, 7:00 pm at the Over 60 Health Center.

9. Meeting adjourned at 8:48 pm.
