Association

Posted in: Timberlake
This is my third home that I've owned, so someone please answer this:

WHY THE HELL IS THERE AN ''ASSOCIATION'' TELLING ME HOW TO LIVE?

Can you say trailer park?

Do you not enjoy rising property values? Can you put trust in your neighbor to properly take care or his or her estate? Would it bother you to come home and see White Trash Wilbur next door with his '73 Pontiac up on blocks surrounded by a weed-infested fortress? Or maybe his RV parked in front of your house? Well, thanks to the ''Association'', the conformity of Timberlake exists. Granted, the inability to paint your front door pink may be a nuisance to you, but I remain grateful.

Would like Rules Enforced-HOA

I had a question concerning our community. We value an Association and that played a role in us purchasing our home. Over the past several weeks, I have noticed that there are several homes that have not taken down there Christmas lights. To put it bluntly, that bothers me and I do not think it is appropriate for the decorations to still be up in May. I also question some of the landscape maintenence that is being kept. Believe me, I am not saying we need to strictly enforce every rule that falls under the by-laws, but I do believe we need to keep our development up to a certain standard. My question is, what are we doing to enforce these type of infractions within our community? I am just concerned about the upkeep, for lack of a better term, of our development.

I agree

I am so glad someone else out there has problems with the same issues that I have. What is wrong with people and their Xmas lights? Its not like they live back East where it is too cold to take down their lights in January. It looks downright tacky! The brown and dead grass in some people's front yards as well as the lack of some landscaping is also an eyesore. I also hope that property upkeep can be an enforceable ''law'' within the HOA.
