The bus company proposes a new Bus Rapid Transit (a fast rubber-tired express bus) from San Diego State University to the Santa Fe Depot downtown, along a route that runs on El Cajon Boulevard from College Avenue to Park Boulevard. The bus company will hold an open house on Thursday, May 13, 2004 from 3:00PM to 7:00PM at the North Park Rec Center (4044 Idaho between Lincoln and Polk).

You should go, see what is being proposed, and offer your suggestions. The bus company has already spent considerable money on planning for this route, and the total project will run about $90 Millions on the day it opens. It will require continuing subsidy, like all our other busses.
-
You should think whether this bus and its schedule is good enough so that the bus company can stop Routes 15 and 115. That's what they want to do.
-
You should think whether this bus should have a dedicated lane on El Cajon Boulevard (no other traffic allowed in the bus lane).
-
You should think what a dedicated lane does to the other traffic and what it does to parking and how it affects the businesses on El Cajon Boulevard.
-
You should think whether the bus should run from University City to Downtown, a route with more riders, a route that the University City Community wants; not from SDSU to downtown.
-
You should ask whether running the bus along the centerline of Park Boulevard is a good idea, especially at El Cajon Boulevard and again at University Avenue where it switches back and forth between the right lane and the center.
