Board of Directors Meeting April 28th 2007

Jul 25, 2007

ALPINE HIGHLANDS
PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION
04/28/2007

The Board of Directors meeting at the home of Dick Sweeney, was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by treasurer Ron Littlefield in the absence of Sharon Haven, who is moving to Hawaii. Ron then asked Dick to preside. Present were Dick, Ron, Shirley, Chris, Debi, Missy, and Martin. Sharon and Ginger were absent. Guests present were Jack Benham, Ernie Yoes, Debbie Sweeney and Steve Ulsund. The minutes were read and approved.

PURPOSE OF CALL: to conside the need to reorganize the operation of the association and to consider the need to update the Bylaws which are now well over 25 years old.

OLD BUSINESS: Considerable discussion took place on when and how the Bylaws should be rewritten and updated for our present situation. It was agreed that they should include, if possible, authority for the board to enforce the restrictions. Many of the points in the present document need to be clarified. It was agreed that any new Bylaws must be approved by the members of the association not just the Board of Directors. A committee consisting of Ron, Dick and Martin were appointed to work on the project and report at the next meeting.

NEW BUSINESS: Dick introduced the project of an association web site .The free Neighborhood Site which Dick and Norman demonstrated on the computer screen, would be used. Martin agreed to serve as web master, creating and handling it. Only the webmaster can add or erase items but members can contact him to include items. Any controversial item must be approved by the board before being included. The directors approved the plan unanimously.

The secretary was instructed to write a note to Ginger Mueller suggesting that she may wish to resign because of the heavy family responsibilities which keep her from attending.

The board agreed that it must hold monthly meetings for a few months. The next one will be July 18 at the Sweeney home.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS: Sharon Haven, the current president, has agreed to resign as soon as notified. New president is Dick Sweeney, secretary is Debi Ulsund with Chris MacKenzie serving as consultant to the new secretary as needed, and Ron Littlefield was reelected as treasurer.

The meeting was adjourned at 9 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Chris Mac Kenzie, Retiring Secretary
