Alpine Highlands POA Board Meeting 4/8/2010

Subject: Minutes  4/8/10
The Board of Directors meeting held at the Alpine Sheriff Station Community Room, was called to order on April 8, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. by president, Martin Gorence.  Present were Martin, Dick, Ron, Missy, Pat and Debi.  Sharon and Jean did not attend.  Guest present was Jack Benham.

The minutes from the September 22, 2009 meeting were read and approved.

OLD BUSINESS:

Alpine High School: Has been approved by the Alpine Planning Group, but is on hold.

Albertsons Parkland Site: Has been approved by the Alpine Planning Group, but is on hold.

Illegally Parked Vehicles/Towing: Ron has been posting a standard ”No Parking Warning”letter on illegally parked vehicles. Most violators have conformed and the situation is under control. However, the board agreed that Martin and Ron meet with a local towing company (that was previously contacted) to discuss their ability to tow a violating vehicle after sufficient notice has been given. This company is willing to post signs, furnish notices and tow when required and contacted by our Highland POA liaison.

Roads: Annual inspection of our roads by county PRD superintendent, Rick Johnson was scheduled for October.  However, Rick was promoted and a replacement has not been designated.  Ron will contact the county to schedule an inspection.

NEW BUSINESS:

Neighborhood Watch signs:  Discussion on the quantity of signs, posting locations and costs.  The board agreed to use funds in the postage bank account to purchase and install a sign at each entrance.  A total of three signs at a cost of $92.00 each (including installation) will be purchased and installation overseen by Dick Sweeney.  Ron, Dick and Martin will contact the property owners where the three signs will be placed in advance of the postings.

Towing Signs:  Discussion and approval to post these signs on the same poles as the Neighborhood Watch signs.

Illegally Parked Vehicles/Towing:  Ron will email a copy of the standard ”No Parking Warning” letter he designed  to each board member for a Board vote and approval.  A “Failure to Comply” amendment will be added with information regarding the towing company.

Martin will contact the property owner on Viejas View Rd. with a dumpster in the roadway.  The owner was previously notified to remove it when his landscaping was complete.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,

Debi Ulsund, Secretary
