Atrist to Show Fulton Project Design

After having had the opportunity to visualize the proposed Fulton underpass design enhancement proposal, the others present and I were very much impressed. Twyla Arthur, the artist, intricately created a wonderful proposal for our Alta Vista-Beacon Hill (Fulton) bridge and underpass. She is proposing a combination of tile work, mural paintings, and light fixtures.

Twyla stated that the Fulton design needed to tie into the neighborhood setting and reflect the overall stylistic patterns of our community. She decided to use ochre, purple, and rust colored slate to promote that effect. The artist may also be incorporating neighbor donated small shards of china, glass, metal or other discarded objects from the neighborhood. The artist may use the objects to authenticate her stylistic approach and create an heirloom for all of us to admire for posterity. Her unique style will cause a wonderful opportunity for both neighborhoods to unite and help restore a part of our history. We can continue to renew our hopes for the revitalization of our neighborhood, but we must work together. This project is just another small piece of the Alta Vista renaissance.
