There are a lot of gripes in Providence and Cranston over the "no bin" policy, but only from people who don't feel like recycling. Another policy that works is New York City - hefty fines if you're found putting recyclables in your regular trash.

That is a great idea and could even use some of the ServeRI volunteers to do the policing of the recycles as well as giving them job experience and getting their benefits continued for work experience.

Great idea but am sure the unions would object and show their greedy hands to suck up our dollars.

I think they need the message that the gravy train is over and we can't afford to have them making the big bucks now and with pensions and health care forever when we do not....and some of us do not even have jobs.
