Subject: Just a heads up lots of thefts going on in our Neighborhood
Lots more to report... At least 2 cars were hit on Ascot Court last night...(one in Rose Hill and one in Clairborne) and to top that, a vehicle was stolen from a home in Clairborne... can't think of the name of the street, but it's right behind Ascot... they cleaned out the garage and stole an SUV from the driveway!
There may have been another theft on Keenland Ct this morning as well.
I am sorry to say this but unfortunately there was another theft from a vehicle last night on Citation Ct.
Please be sure to remove your valuables from your cars and make sure they are locked and your garage door is down.
If you become a victim of a theft or see anyone suspicious be sure to call New Castle County Police.
DO NOT APPROACH THE SITUATION!
Also let the AMB board know so that we can alert the neighborhood If we all lock up they will move along quickly to another area - tell your friends in Clear Creek, Amberwood, Clairborne and Brennan Estates to be careful too
Tracy-
Our car was broken into last night also. It was locked and parked right next to our garage which was down. These guys are very careful. We had eight people in the house and never heard a sound. The car was fingerprinted, but the New Castle police told us that these guys wear gloves. Gallant Fox resident
this is from today from an Amberwood resident -
You should be aware that one of my neighbors called the police Saturday night after seeing a few guys between 11:30 and midnight walking around in dark pants and black hoodie sweatshirts. (this is the same description given from the thefts a few months ago) After calling the police, she called me, I called several neighbors...and then 45 minutes or more later, my next door neighbor saw someone across the street. He then went outside, but saw the person walk away, and hop into an SUV that was waiting for him on a side street.
Don't be afraid of waking someone up. If you see or hear anything suspicious call Police. Turn on Exterior Lights. Criminals do not want to be seen. Then call a couple of neighbors. Have them spread the word. It worked this past weekend. There were people in Amberwood, but lights and calls sent them elsewhere. Great job by all who called police and neighbors.
Many people are getting Spring Fever. We need to safeguard ourselves. Please remember not to leave garage openers on visor on car. This will give access to your garage/home. Please remember to lock garage interior door!!!
