What can be done about the folks living a few houses down from us that leave their small dog out to bark at all passing cars?  Often there is no one outside with this dog and he runs barking at your tires everytime you drive by.  I have called the City of Fort Worth Anmial Control but the dog is never out 'when' they come out.....I personally never seen them come by after I have called during business hours.  The lady who lives at the house once chased this dog down to my yard and told me that they had adopted it and then found out it didn't like kids and nips/bites at her kids.   I am a dog lover (of big dogs) and this dog drives me crazy chasing my truck tires.  One day the owner dog dad was outside and my husband stopped the car afraid we were going to hit the dog and the man just laughed.  I am tempted to lure the thing in my truck and take him to the pound myself.  If this dog wonders down a few houses and into my yard and gets me or my young son, I will come after the owner with a vengance....and the dog will likely become dinner for my 130 pound dog.

Where in the neighborhood are you speaking of?  I can think of two dogs like this in my part of the area (the NE side of the neighborhood)...one is a little chihuahua, the other a min pin.  Both always charge after my 70 lb dog and me when we walk.  I now carry a citronella animal deterent spray b/c of both.

If you are talking about the dog on Mystic PLEASE let him be a snack for your 130 pound dog.  I almost wreaked my car because that little shit scared me to death running out like it did.  I wonder if owner dad will be laughing if one of us runs over crazy dog because he can't be a dad and make his dog stay out of the street.  I'm an animal lover but this crazy dog has gotten on my last nerve.

I would recommend asking the owner to refrain the dog from chasing cars.  If you  politely ask for a resolution and receive none, then I would advise the following.

Those of you that are impacted by this dog, go online to the Animal Control website and submit an online complaint.  Be sure and address all of your concerns. Be specific to the dangers on the dog running into the street, after your cars and children is applicable. Note the address of the owners in your complaint.

Multiple complaints from residents warrant atleast a visit from Animal Control to talk to the owners and hopefully some compliance.
