Veterans Upward Bound

Helping Veterans Go To School

The Veterans Upward Bound Program is designed to help veterans prepare academically to go to vocational school or to the college of their choice. The program is free to eligible veterans and provides a wide array of academic assistance.

Who We Are and What We Do

The East Central University Veterans Upward Bound Program is a grant program funded by the United States Department of Education. Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) is designed to prepare eligible veterans to enter or reenter a postsecondary program, whether it is a vocational or technical school, or a 2 or 4 year college, anywhere in the United States.

VUB has trained counselors and instructors to assist veterans with complete educational preparation. The program offers classes, workshops, and individualized instruction in subject areas such as English, math, science, reading and computers. In addition to the academic preparation, VUB offers information about progams of study and careers (to help you find out what it is that you want to do), assistance with admissions and financial aid applications (all that paper work!), individual academic counseling, and referrals to other programs of interest to veterans.
