Possibly the fastest growing crime. It affects almost half a million people each year. Bascially, someone else is trading on your good name and credit.

One man’s trash is another man’s gold. Be careful what you throw away or leave lying around. Someone may put your identity to a use you never intended.

Identity Theft Prevention
Shred it, don’t just throw it out
Be careful with SSN & personal data
Don’t give out personal data unless you initiated the communication
Put outgoing mail directly in US Mail box
Collect incoming mail promptly
Check credit reports annually
