One man’s trash is another man’s gold. Be careful what you throw away or leave lying around. Someone may put your identity to a use you never intended.

Shred it, don’t just throw it out
Be careful with SSN & personal data
Don’t give out personal data unless you initiated the communication
Put outgoing mail directly in US Mail box
Collect incoming mail promptly
Check credit reports annually
