Can we do it on a weekend?

It sounds like a lot of fun; we'd be willing to chip in $2 or $3 each and help out. Could we do it on a weekend? We have trouble getting to the meetings since our weeknights are booked solid.

This is something we really should do and a neighborhood. I don't think it matters when, but a weekend would probably work better for most families. I think those who are willing to come would have no problem donating a few bucks to offset prices of the thing. Maybe a sign-up sheet and potluck are in order?
