Arlington Heights Civic Club

Good Morning to all I am a new member to this forum.  I just wanted to let everyone know that I am noticing more and more an increase in crime circling around our community.  We live in Southway Landing and have been residence there for 4 years.  Back in February my vehicle was stolen out of my drive way and then on 8/20 our home was broken into at 4 am while we were there.  Our dog scared them away when they came in but they still managed to get my wallet off of our dryer in the utility room as well as break into our vehicles.  They were able to break into our house by tampering with the safety latch on our garage door with a coat hanger.  I have also heard of other thefts around the community.  Has anyone elses noticed this increase or is it just me, but I feel that we need to take steps in order to make our place a better place to live. 

Sorry for the late reply.   I was at the last home association meeting and I have been meaning to update this site for quite sometime.  Sorry to hear about the crimes commited at your home.  I know we have a few officers living in the neighborhood. Maybe we need to set up a neighborhood watch.
