June 16th and 17th are the dates for the Annual Vista Garage Sale from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day. You can respond to either Rose Coniglio or Thelma Braun for another day or so to have your address placed on the map to be given to the hordes of buyers. If you miss the map printing, you can still sell your prized possessions this weekend. Place your priced & prized items on your driveway and wait patiently to make the sales, taking advantage of all the buying frenzy.
June 21st Palatine Road Meeting at 7:30 PM in the MacArthur Middle School auditorium (District 23 complex at Palatine and Schoenbeck Roads, NW corner). A presentation of speakers sponsored by the Community Mobilization Team will discuss the future of this road and the desires of the homeowners living along this corridor.
There is the possibility of a Vista Picnic in Flentie Park later this summer. Volunteers are always needed to divide the tasks. To offer assistance, call Thelma Braun to leave a message. If you are called, please consider helping. There will be a picnic-committee planning meeting after the 4th of July.
Vista Directory 2000 should be ready by autumn. The Directory Committee has already begun work by updating new neighbors into the data base. Later, phone calls will be made to inquire if changes are to be made in the jobs and services listings for your home?’s occupants.
Arlington Vista Sewer Project (Page 2): Please read the enclosed letter from the Village of Arlington Heights?’ Public Works Director regarding the status of the Vista Sewer Project. We have been writing about this project for three years and have given many details previously. If anyone, especially new neighbors, wishes to ask for details, please call me, Jack Fahey, for more information about our storm and sanitary sewers than you will ever want to know.
Neighborhood Watch Committee (Pages 3 & 4): Please see the comments from our Neighborhood Watch Committee on Page 3 and the Neighborhood Watch memo from the Arlington Heights Police Department on Page 4.
Storm: Now that the major storm debris has been removed from our streets and parkways, the Village of Arlington Heights?’ Forestry Department will be working for many months to attend to the damaged trees on Village parkways. If you have any questions about Arlington Vista, please don?’t hesitate to call me.
Sincerely,
Jack Fahey, President
