ASHCREEK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

MINUTES APRIL 8, 2002 MEETING

President Dorothy Gage called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM, Multnomah Center, eight persons present. Minutes of the Feb. meeting were approved as written.
Chair Dorothy pointed out meetings , hearings and events of interest?–see the SWNI News for details. Dorothy asked for nominees for SWNI volunteer recognition. Patty nominated Jack Klinker, who has been very active with the Land Use Comm. and SW Community Plan. Seconded and approved. New attendee, Bob Norris was introduced and presented to the group. ACTION ITEM: The strategic plan was included with the minutes. Dorothy ask for any more discussion, hearing none, MSP. No response to our OLCC letter has been received, so Dorothy wrote to the Governor about our concern that OLCC seems to ignore neighborhood concerns.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Community Liaison: Nancy reported that there is no Welcome Wagon in SW. She
Had one response to the SWNI News and will put that name on the mailing list.
Transportation: Patty announced that engineer Grant Williams , who remrodded the 57th
Dip problem has been named to the
SWNI BOARD: We need to recruit volunteers for the clean up, May 4.Our Crime Pre-
Vention specialist, who initiated many good programs has been replaced with a less
Experienced person. Jack reported about the Markham Hill Plan hearing.
LAND USE: Jack met with the developer who will be building on a 50x300 ft. lot on
Garden Hm. Rd. near the Mult. Blvd./GHR intersection,and invited him to come to our meeting.SWCP did not retain all the ?“narrow streets?” zoning we requested.only
Those N or GHR. Water issues on 59th N of Taylors Fy. are unresolved. There is a
Question regarding one pipe that may be putting storm water into the sanitary system
Crime PREVENTION: Gary gave a report on the Comm. Court open house .He read a
List of current scams. Steve listed telephone tree, email tree, signs, an informative
Meeting and showed us his work for Neighborhood Watch.

NOMINATION OF BOARD AND OFFICERS: MSP: The following persons were
Accepted as the slate: Pres. Dorothy Gage; V Pres. Jack Klinker; Sec. Ester McGinnis;
Board members, Patty Lee and Steve Kovaks. One more Board member is needed.
