The City of Jacksonville's Housing & Neighborhoods Department has partnered with the Bank of America Charitable Foundation and Family Foundations to help residents find effective ways to buy and keep their homes in Duval County.
Dawn Lockhart, President of Family Foundations, says that a tough economy has many families worried about the stability of their housing situation. "Families from every walk of life are coming to our office every day to find solutions that might help them keep their homes. Foreclosures are devastating to families, so it is important that families seek assistance from a certified housing counseling agency."

Dear Southeast Neighbors:
Council member Yarborough has provided us with some very timely information; please share this information with your neighbors, family and friends.
In response to dramatically escalating fuel costs and a growing deficit in the fuel fund of more than $61 million, the JEA Board of Directors voted to raise the variable fuel rate by $15.00 per 1000 kilowatt hours (kWh) for the period July 1 through September 30, 2008. Then on October 1, 2008, the fuel rate will be reduced by $6.15 resulting in a net increase of $8.85 per 1000 kWh.
On the water side, the JEA Board will review several factors as they consider increasing water rates at a public hearing that will be held on July 15.
