July 2011 - An Open Letter to the South Louisville Community

Dear South Louisville Neighbor,

I would like to invite you to a Listening Session to be held at the Saints Mary and Elizabeth Hospital Community Room on July 23^rd beginning at 9 am.  As an individual committed to the improvement of South Louisville I want to hear your thoughts and ideas about the future as it relates to the New Cut Road/Taylor Boulevard Corridor.

            We have asked the City Solutions Center to facilitate our discussion. The City Solutions Center is a partnership of the Kentucky League of Cities and the University of Louisville.  Mayor Fischer has appointed the Task Force and Council Members Vicki Welch, D-15; Marianne Butler, D-15; Dan Johnson, D-21; and David Yates, D-25 have sponsored this project.

It is important for every resident to have an equal voice in the discussion, and the City Solutions team has the experience to make our listening session productive.

I urge you to become involved in our effort to insure that New Cut Road/Taylor Boulevard Corridor prepares us for the future and constantly improves the quality of life for all.

Having a town meeting is serous business, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t have an enjoyable time being with one another and listening to all of the ideas that neighbors will share.  Your ideas are important to the future of this place that we call home. The meeting will last approximately 2 hours.  That’s a small amount of time to invest when you consider the tremendous opportunity that we have. South Louisville has a bright future before us and I trust I can count on you to take part in this important step.
