National Night Out - Citizen Engagement at It's Best

August 2nd (LMPD)  - Our public safety remains a concern that we all care about and want to solve.  On this hot August evening, neighborhood leaders from Auburndale, Scottsdale and Candlelight, state and l ocal leaders including State Representative Mike Nemes,  Councilmembers Welch (D-13), Henderson (D- 14) and Yates (D-25); Block Watch Captains and members came out to meet and greet Major Kelly Jones, Beat Officers and staff.

Major Jones stressed the importance of involvement, knowing the beat officers and to bring issues to law enforcement when "something does not look right".  The major encouraged all to get to know their beat officers and take advantage of the vast amount of electronic resources now available.
