Emergency Siren Update

At the April 28 meeting some neighbors indicated difficulty hearing the siren at the new location. Ray Whitener will review the matter with Emergency Management personnel later in the week. There was also concern the siren was relocated from the Kenwood Elementary School location thus leaving children without protection. According the JCPS School Board member Linda Duncan: ?“Every school is equipped with emergency radio service that is monitored by staff and gives directions to principals in cases of emergency. Schools couldn't just rely on sirens, anyway - there is usually so much going on inside that a close siren may not be heard.?”
