Manzanita Senior Center is operated by the Phoenix Human Services Department, Senior Services Division. Programming is provided Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The center is in the shopping mall located on the southwest corner of 35th Avenue and Northern Avenue. The center is easy to reach by public transportation, linked by four major bus routes. Parking is also available to the north of the center. Available within walking distance of the center: Safeway, Walgreens, Hallmark stores, Jiffy Lube, Bank One, Wells Fargo Bank, thrift store, furniture store, three beauty shops, carpet store and many other businesses.

Center activities include: billiards, bingo, crafts, cards, bridge, darts, table games, Tai Chi, Chinese painting class, quilting, line dancing, mobile post office, health screenings and food programs. Check the attached calendar for dates, times, additional activities and fees (if applicable).

Lunch is served Monday - Friday at 11:45 a.m. Reservations for lunch are required two business days prior. A choice of entrees are offered daily. Review the monthly menu for meal choices. Call the center for further information on programs and services.

Completed in 1935, Encanto holds the distinction of being the third oldest golf course in Arizona. Encanto is ideally suited for the average golfer. Its level fairways are wide and the number of hazards found on them is not excessive. It offers a relaxed atmosphere, enhanced by the course's abundance of mature palm and salt cedar trees and some spectacular views of downtown Phoenix.
