LATTICE DISASTER

Posted in: Park W at Circle C
I am very upset about the addition of lattice to our community fence. It has ruined the look of the entrance into our villa styled living. We moved here because we thought we were moving up in the world, but now I am not sure we made a good choice. If privacy is the issue for the home owner then large shrubs or evergreens would look great. This lattice needs to be removed now because it is just not up to our standards here at Park West. This is not a mobile home park!

Where is the BOD???

My feelings exactly..and it would also be appreciated if the trash can would be put away (noted in deed restrictions)and other trash such as matresses not be stacked outside. Is that some kind of statement?..., if it is, it's not a pretty one. Hope they don't have a old boat!! Where is the BOD???? Is there an extra copy of deed restrictions for these folks?

Deed Restrictions ?

Many of us never got a copy of the Deed Restrictions. Like me, all they got at closing was another empty promise.

You can't expect people to abide by restrictive covenants if they don't know what the are in the first place.

We are required to follow two HOA sets of Deed Restriction, and I'll be there aren't 10 people in Park West who could show me a copy of the CIrcle C Deed Restrictions or the 7 page list of plants that are ''recommended'' or ''not recommended'' by the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center - the list that both HOA's supposedly use as a guilde for appropriate native Texas plants. Incidently, that list is not only hard to find, but it's highly controversial on 1/3 of the species listed in it, just for starters.

As for the BOD - they have their heads in a dark place, as usual. YOU, my dear neighbors, are ''officiall requested'' not to bother the poor BOD and go directly to our equally unresponsive, highly useless, and over-paid professional (I use the term losely - only referes to ''paid'' rather than responsible) Property Management Service at Goodwin Real Estate. Good luck !

The contact's name Marilyn Childress and you can't contact her after hours or on week-end or holidays or when ever she just doens't feel like returning your phone call.

Hideous

I am glad to see that there are several others who also feel the lattice fencing is hideous. I understand the homeowner's desire for privacy, however they knew they were moving into that lot and they should have worked out something with the builder. Nice shrubs is an option and I have noticed beautiful vines growing up and filling the spaces between the iron posts on other homeowners properties, as well as to entrance #1. There is really no need for the latticing. I did send a concern e-mail to Denise Nordstrom (info@circlecranch.com) because I wasn't sure who to contact about the issue. Here is her response to me:

''Thank you for your email. I will drive by and take a look. Homeowners must submit their plans for additions and/or improvements to the architectural control committee for approval. I will be happy to drive by and then send the homeowner a letter asking that they submit their plans. Once they have done that and the ACC committee has had a chance to make a decision, I will let you know and we can go from there.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Denise Nordstrom''

I have sent a follow-up e-mail to Denise asking her if the homeowners had received the letter she spoke of yet. Since my initial inquiry to her, the homeowners have completed the latticing as well as putting more on their gate entrance to the side yard (it's not even straight!). Please feel free to e-mail her so she will know there are many others who feel the same way. My husband and I are fairly new here in ParkWest and don't really know who all the contacts are for issues like these, but atleast Denise is somebody you can express your concern to. I don't know anybody on the ACC, so if any of you do I suppose they would be the ones to also contact.
