Austin Mayor Wynn has accepted an invitation to speak at our March annual members meeting of CCHOA.

We also expect Gerald Daugherty, our Travis County Commissioner for Pct 3. My guess is that he will be announcing the new Travis county offices that will open later this spring in Oak Hill.

It will have a JP court, a tax office, and meeting rooms for citizens. It's a welcome addition to Oak Hill and you should know that it took some arm twisting to get it built here.

The other thing you will notice is that we will have a ballot with candidates running for two of the board of directors positions and about 10 by-law changes that have been proposed (having reveiwed them in detail, I doubt that any of these changes will be debated, because they are making them simpler for us, correcting language that was wrong all along, or make them gender neutral in the wording).

Please plan to attend and bring your neighbors, too. This meeting is expected to move along pretty quickly this year. If you want to work on a committee, don't wait until the meeting - call the CCHOA office today.

BTW, there is a new worker in the CCHOA office. Her name is gaile, she's a Circle C neighbor and she worked in the old CCR Information Center before it was torn down. Gale has been helping Denise and she'll be taking over while Denise is out on leave for a few weeks.

You can expect all of our future meetings to use that PC projector, so you may want to get a good seat in the front. The agenda will be available in a hard copy, as well. The projector allows staff to show slides with photos and video clips, as well as text documents. It's a major improvement.

One of the big stories will be the news about our planned amenities improvements and the budget we have to work with. CCHOA has been working to get deeds for land we expect to build on or install playground equipment, it will soon have an Impervious Cover bank of land to compensate for more intensive building projects (like our second pool and recreation facility), and you need to know that most of those assets were caught up in the Gary Bradley bankruptcy. Expect to hear another update on that issue and I can tell you that it's good news!
