Plant City passes an Ordinance

The city of Plant City has passed an ordinance, which requires a purchaser of fireworks obtain a permit to prove they are truly eligible to purchase the fireworks as allowed under State Statute 791.
Now, if we can get the City of Tampa to enact a similar ordinance all three municipalities in Hillsborough County will have taken action that is desired by a vast majority of the citizens in Hillsborough County.
Ideally the best solution would be for the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners to pass the ordinance, however, unfortunately, this is unlikely due to the campaign contributions made to most of the commissioners by the fireworks industry. Only one of the commissioners did not accept "contributions" from the fireworks industry and the commissioner is Commissioner Rose Ferlity.
