Fireworks Task Force

The ?“fireworks task force?” has been named and should start meeting in the near future. We know the legislation that created this task force was pushed by the fireworks industry and was incorporated into an agricultural bill that had nothing to do with fireworks. You must begin to contact your legislators now and let them know you want to see Statute 791 strengthened, not weakened. Let them know you want fireworks out of your neighborhood.
One of the items the task force is supposed to study is to have designated areas where an individual can shoot fireworks. This is stupid unless they only allow fireworks to be sold in those designated areas. If they are allowed to sell fireworks in neighborhoods, they will be used in neighborhoods. This is only one of the items the task force is supposed to make recommendations. Most of these other items are just as unfriendly to neighborhoods. Call, write, or e-mail your legislators now and let them know how unhappy you will be with them if they don?’t strengthen Statute 791 and get fireworks out of our neighborhoods.
To add insult to injury none of the eight appointees to the Task Force represents Law Enforcement.
