WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU ?

Although we?’ve received overwhelming support for NO RAIL YARD IN BACHMAN, I was surprised to receive a few communications from some of you stating that you thought this would be okay. To you I say take a time out and look at what the rail yard in East Dallas looks like! The purpose of responding to the few as the primary topic of this month?’s newsletter is that I?’m wondering if there are others who might have been thinking this is okay, but didn?’t even take the effort to voice an opinion. Here lies the bigger problem. These are the people that allow their neighborhood to be ?“dumped on?”, while waiting around for someone else to do all the work to try to fix the problems that could have been avoided, had they taken a more active interest in their surrounding area.

Folks, that?’s how Bachman got in the mess we?’re in. For the last twelve years, we?’ve been having to fight, fight, fight for improvement. If you?’re not personally willing to take the time and effort to stand up and speak out for a better neighborhood, you better make absolutely sure you?’re supporting people to represent you that are willing to go the distance ?— not just occasionally, but every single day. I emphasize EVERY SINGLE DAY, be-cause several people do just that ?— we call in service requests EVERY SINGLE DAY ?— for illegal public sales, illegally parked cars, cars marked for sale, signs stuck in the ground along the streets, signs posted on utility poles, bulky trash left everywhere, high weeds, etc, etc, etc.

I am thankful for the people who took the time to say they thought a rail yard would be okay. If not for them, we wouldn?’t know that we not only have to fight the ?“powers that be?” downtown. We also have to better educate our own neigh- borhood.
