SUP Hearing for a Dance Hall License

This is the old Steak & Ale location on Northwest Highway at Webb Chapel Extension. Steak & Ale still owns the property but leases it to La Guira.

La Guira business owners have taken out the kitchen, but state that they are putting in a new one.

Until recently, various City departments did not check with each other prior to issuing licenses / permits. Consequently, La Guira was improperly issued dance hall licenses in the past, regardless of the CR zoning that requires a specific use permit (SUP) in order to allow dancing. This oversight has been corrected.

TABC also requires that zoning requirements be met in order to get the State license to sell alcohol.

The Plan Commission unanimously voted against a Specific Use Permit.

Regardless, La Guira is still operating as a dance hall (as of the date of this posting).
