Special Use Permit Denied by CPC

The Bachman / Northwest Highway Community Association proudly announces that on 12-02-99, the City Plan Commission unanimously voted to deny a Special Use Permit for El Tormento and Lake Paradise Sports Caf?© to operate as a Bar / Tavern.
This location is zoned as Commercial Retail and therefore cannot legally operate as a bar / tavern without an SUP. The ruling of the CPC was that the location was too close in proximity to single-family residences and would therefore have a detrimental effect on the neighborhood. In our area that is already seriously impacted with alcohol-related businesses, this denial is a welcome relief.
The BNHCA has worked diligently for many years to improve quality of life and promote economic growth in the Bachman community and is very pleased to have received unanimous support from the CPC for our efforts.
