Government Information
We are asking that the following information be passed on to civic association members and all neighborhood residents:
Various neighborhoods throughout the City of Dublin have been experiencing an increase in thefts from vehicles. These thefts are generally occurring overnight and are from unlocked vehicles parked in open garages, driveways, and on the street. The Dublin Division of Police has increased its neighborhood patrols by using officers on foot, officers on bicycles, officers in police cruisers, and officers in unmarked vehicles in an effort to prevent these thefts and catch the offenders, but we need your help.
We are asking residents to do the following:
1) Please remove all valuables (i.e. cell phones, sunglasses, GPS, cash, change, purse, wallet, checkbook, etc.) from your vehicles; valuables left in an unattended vehicle are an invitation or opportunity for crime.
2) Please lock your vehicles; the vast majority of these thefts have involved unlocked vehicles where the criminal has walked up and simply opened the vehicle door.
3) Please close your overhead garage doors at night, closing your garage door ensures your valuables are safe and it keeps the criminal from having easy access to your home.
4) If you witness a crime or if you see or hear something suspicious, please call the Dublin Division of Police immediately at 889-1112.
If you do have information regarding these thefts please contact the Dublin Division of Police at 889-1112. By working together in partnership, we can make a difference. Thank You.
