Rebuilding Together - Valparaiso

Formerly Christmas in April

Rebuilding Together is the nation's largest volunteer organization preserving and revitalizing low-income homes and communities. Since 1990, Rebuilding Together - Valparaiso has brought volunteers together throughout the community to help the elderly, the disabled, the very low-income and in many cases, low-income homes with children. In 2004, we had over 500 volunteers throughout the community, from church groups to university students to Valparaiso city employees, come together to help rehab and revitalize 35 homes and nonprofit facilities.

Though we have changed our name from Christmas in April, our mission statement remains the same: "Rebuilding Together - Valparaiso is dedicated to keeping low income, elderly and disabled homeowners living in warmth, safety, independence, dignity, and decency"

How to Apply

Do you know someone, such as an elderly resident or a disabled person, who cannot physically and financially afford to fix up his or her home? Do you know someone who would be interested in applying to become a recipient of Rebuilding Together * Valparaiso assistance? We have several ways to help you and that someone apply....

Volunteer

How would you like to be a House Captain? Or are you more interested in connecting with the homeowners and helping them through the Work Day process? Are you a skilled tradesperson and would love to donate your skills and time to those who need them? Or would you just like to help out?
