[Longwoodcommunity] ALERT! Robbery at our house!
Bad news! Our house was robbed today some time between 10:30 am and 12:45 pm. When I left the house at 10:30 there was a large white pick-up that slowed down in front of our house and let me pull out first. I didn't see them pull out behind me and I actually thought about going back. Was that them? Who knows.
When I got home at 12:45 I saw that the door and door frame from the screen porch was kicked in - Definitely not the wind. By then they had already left. The police tried for fingerprints - we'll see. Anyway, did anyone see a vehicle or someone entering or leaving our house between 10:30 and 12:45? They left with a wooden box of Bob's, one of my jewelry boxes and all of my jewelry. They also took some silverware in a pillowcase.
The real bummer is all our passports, social security cards and birth certificates were in the brown wooden box of Bob's. Also, the jewelry was special to me - pieces from when we got married, had children, etc. Some valuable, some not.
So, if anyone saw ANYTHING - even something very small - please let us know. In the meantime, use your security systems (ours was off, but the door was deadbolted) and hide your valuables.

Also, could you let me know if the police stopped by your houses. I'm not sure how many questions they were planning on asking the neighbors.
