We have heard reports of increased crime. In about the last month there has been a burglary on Martinshire, Leeshire & Levonshire.
To try to determine the extent of this trend, the following data has been gleaned from the HPD crime stats. It shows reported crime for the year 2011 and for the period July to December of 2009 for the Woodshire subdivision.
(3 years of data is available at the HPD website. It is a very tedious task to pull the data out for just Woodshire. You have to go month by month and street by street and extract Woodshire streets from all crimes in Houston. This data took about 3 hours to glean. Sometime when I get ambitious I'll try to fill in the blanks)
Note that July - December of 2011 had 9 reported crimes.
July to December of 2009 had 7 reported crimes.
Not sure if that can be called a significant increase or not??? This is for information only. Its not meant to overstate or minimize the problem.
