Subject: Lake update

Hello Donna, Sherika, and Mark,

Last week I spoke with Tom from the Safe Dams program -Dept. of Natural Resources at 404-362-2678. He said that Mr. Hatcher was given until October to repair the dam. October passed and the dam was not repaired. Mr. Hatcher asked for an extension. It was granted. The extension expired and still the dam was not repaired. A letter was sent to the Attorney General's office to get help with enforcement. Tom said that the un-official word is that Mr. Hatcher has either sold/or is in the process of selling his land to a developer.

I spoke with an attorney today, Leron Rogers 404-240-0400. He suggested that a letter be sent to Mr Hatcher on behalf of the Runnymede Homeowner's Association asking for an explanation of the dam repair process and a time line of getting the lake restored, with a 10 day response clause. I would also like to know if the lake will be restocked with fish. (I heard over the weekend that the lake at the Rock Creek Subdivision, up Fielder Rd., was restocked with fish from a lake that was drained in Jonesboro.)

If Mr. Hatcher responds, then we would know what to expect. If Mr. Hatcher does not respond, then Leron suggested contacting him so that he could do further research to determine the next course of action.

Regards,
Gary and Gwen Sanks
