We're sorry. We hate to nag.
To the very few who continue to ignore Fairfax County animal laws, we offer a reminder.
* It is the law that you must pick up the waste from your animal when that waste is left on neighborhood lawns or community property.
* It is the law that animals are not allowed to run loose. (While no law requires a leash for cats, they are covered under animal trespass laws. If you can identify the owner of a cat on your property, you are permitted to go before a magistrate to obtain an animal trespass warrant.)
* It is the law that dogs are not allowed to bark constantly or at hours where neighbors may be disturbed.
Violators should be reported to animal control officers or to the police.
