I don't know how everyone feels but the 2 houses with roof damage at the end of Sycamore forge Ln look awful. I sure wish the owners would take care of there properties. I believe the 2 story is being rented, not sure about the other. Those houses will end up with water damage soon if not already. Was wondering if the board (in a polite kind of way) could just send them a letter that it would be kinda nice if they would take care of there property. In fact I should just drop them a letter.

Thank You for your concern, our community has a drive through service provided by our management company, Affordable HOA.  What that means is we have a regularly scheduled inspection of our community that notates violations of our neighborhoods covenants and maintenance needs of our properties.  After the violation or breach of covenant is noted a letter is sent by our management company to any and all (including the board of directors) violators with a specified date for compliance.  If the problem or violation is not corrected within the specified amount of time, the violation is then turned over to our communities legal counsel for resolution or finalization.  If the matter gets to this level, it normally means an incumberance or cost to the homeowner, unfortunate but sometimes necessary.  I personally am not a big rules guy, but we did sign an agreement when we purchased this property, and are legally bound to abide by the covenants prescribed within just as the rest of our community is commited to conform to the covenants.

Sounds good to me I hope that a resolution comes quick. We had our house built in 1995, we have been here since it was built. Have seen alot of people come and go. It seems some people just dont care much anymore. But the neighborhood still has a good percentage that does.

Yes I agree, we do have a good amount of neighbors who care about the community.  On the other hand it is our responsibility when we see obvious infractions to call our management company (Affordable HOA) and let them know about what we see.  We don't mean to make people neighborhood rats, but when a member of our community does something to de-value your property, it is only prudent for you to then inform our management company of your concerns, and they in turn will issue a letter of warning pending legal involvement.
