Bay Pointe Nature Trail
Did you know our village has its very own nature trail? It does! The trail is lovingly maintained by our property manager Jeff Greene. It starts near the Garbage Building beside the gravel access road. The trail runs through the forest and has great views of Lake Monroe. The trail continues behind building 4 and ends between buildings 3 & 4.
LaSalle's Woods Fire Trail
LaSalle's Woods has an access road behind their buildings to allow fire trucks better access. The access road doubles as a fabulous nature walk. The start of the trail is near the Bay Pointe Garbage Building and meanders behind all of the LaSalle's units. There are wonderful views of the forest and a spectacular view of Lake Monroe at the tip of the point. Across the cove, there is a Bald Eagle nest that is home to our local resident Bald Eagles. Every year, there are one or two eaglets born. Bring your binoculars! During the spring, you can see the parents bring food to their young and see them test their wings as they get older. Look for the star on the map below for the nest position.
Water's Edge Fire Trail
Water's Edge has an access road as well. It starts at the east end of Waters Edge Drive and flows along behind the units. It has great views of the main part of Lake Monroe and has lots of trees and wildlife. The trail dead-ends behind the units and requires you to backtrack to the entrance to get back to the road.
