Meeting with Ms. Robbins

At the last monthly meeting, Short Robbins, New Chief of Recreation & Community Programming, and Kelley Boree, Deputy Director, met with us to explain their plans and the steps involved in getting 15 community centers reopened. They are looking for partners to operate centers because of city budget reductions. Ideas discussed were: after school programs; education with computers; art & music; recreations (game tables). Playground renovations: soccer area; intramural sports and possible skateboard area. They may consider several groups sharing the center.
