It's Time to Pay Membership Dues!

Please remit your annual dues of $20.00 and make your check payable to: Blendon Woods Civic Association. Your Area Representative will collect dues and verify name, address, and phone number for the Community Telephone Directory. 50% of the dues goes to snow removal. The cost of the snow removal is affected by the gas prices, & the amount - frequency  of snowfall, which can not be predicted. It is very important that everyone chip in at leat $10.00 for the snow removal fund, because we all benefit and should pay our fair share. The amount of the contract for snow removal may be high or low priority, depending on the factors listed above. Some years we have more snow amounts and some years we have more snow days. Sometimes, we hardly have any snow, but that is not something that can be predicted. The amount of money in the snow removal fund will be a major factor in how we contract for the snow removal.

The other 50% of the membership dues goes to the general fund for the operation of the BWCA and our membership to the Northland Community Council. We pay annual dues to the NCC to provide us with a connection to the City Council. The NCC promotes and fosters the development and improvement of the NCC Service Area, of which we are one of the 29 civic associations. Their mission is to:

• To engage in such activities that shall raise the standard of civic responsibility and community welfare through the joint action of the members of the Council.
• To coordinate the efforts and activities of civic associations, homeowners associations and other organizations within said Service Area and to represent and communicate the interests of the residents and member organizations to government officials, councils and boards.
• To promote and assist in the formation of civic associations and other voluntary civic organizations in the NCC Service Area where none currently exist, and to encourage participation by residents of the NCC Service Area in their respective civic organizations.
• To promote the general welfare, proper growth and desirable development of the NCC Service Area, and the specific welfare of its members and its residents.
• To engage in all other activities for which persons, unincorporated associations, or corporations may lawfully join together in a corporation not-for-profit.
• To have and exercise all the rights and powers conferred on non-profit corporations under the Ohio Non-Profit Corporation law, as such law is now in effect or may at any time hereafter be amended.
• To do all other acts necessary or expedient for the administration of the affairs of the purpose of this corporation.

Other general funding goes to our Community Telephone Directory printing costs, newsletter printing costs, Community events and activities such as the Annual Pumpkin Drop and July 4th parade and the Annual Community Garage Sale. These activities help to promote community spirit and we could have more activities and events if more residents would pay dues and get involved in planning and helping with community events.

You may mail your dues to the  the Membership Chairperson, Tracy Stocker at 4192 Boulder Dam.
