You all know what will happen if vandalism occurs at the Lakes of River Trails Pond.... those baaad River Trails residents must have done it.

This topic is ridiculous, why can't the residents just get along?  If the HOA in LORT want to limit access then put up a fence and require a pass key to use the pond.

River Trails should apply to become a gated  community and put gates up on the streets that lead from one development to the other.  It might cut down on the crime with fewer exits available.

Lakes of River Trails only has one entrance and would be easier for them to cut their crime also.

Better yet, why don't we get HEB ISD to build another elementary school so that way each development has its own school.

Again, this is ridiculous, and we should be working together to keep "OUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND NEIGHBORS safe from outside problems.....

I believe I understand the intent of your question and I know it was not directed at me so excuse me for responding.....but I do understand why you would ask this question.  The RT homeowners HOA dues are volunteer and I believe the Lakes are mandatory.  Not sure where you live?  But if your live in the Lakes - what are your fee's and what all is included?    Currently,  I have not joined Rivertrails HOA but there are several neighbors that plan to come to the next RTHA meeting and join.

Oh my goodness, I thought this was the United States....Are you Church members?  perhaps if not, I don't want you in my neighborhood..are you a dues paying member of the River Trails PTA or Hurst Jr. High PTA or LD Bell Pta?  If not perhaps your children shouldn't benefit from these programs!  My point is I lived peacefully WITHOUT and HOA for 17 years before moving here, are lawns were much neater than those here, vandalism and crime were almost non-existent we looked out ofr each other and our neighborhoods because it was RIGHT!  Not because I was a charter member of the HOA...there was NONE!  I have been here almost 9 years and there has been nothing but constant dissention and arguments about the HOA get a life and real problems, fix your own fences, mow your yards, watch your kids and pets, keep both out of the streets pick up the trash, look out for your neighbors and pretend like this is a NEIGHBORhood, because it is RIGHT save your HOA Dues, volunteer at the school, nursing home or church, be a big brother or big sister, donate blood and unless someone is bothering you mind your own matters, and if you have no matters of your own to mind your blessed.  I wonder how many people look and see HOA and go "well, there goes the neighborhood".  PS: Don't we have HOA rules about fences?  The properties at the front have needed to replace their fences for 8 years, when is the HOA going to see to it that happens?  I think it's ridiculous that my neighbor got a trash can ticket and my Moms visiting freind got a ticket for parking facing the wrong direction yet the first thing people see when they drive into our sub-division is the ghetto fences.
pss:  the gas co. is not going to pay for them, they don't have evens 60% of the required signatures...how long do the homeowners have to comply with HOA regulations!  This all seems very selective!
