What's the consensus on fences on the property line when it borders your neighbors?  If the "pretty" side of the fence is facing you is that considered your fence to replace/etc?  I have a fence line with the "ugly" side (the side with the cross beams and posts facing me) and I'm thinking that belongs to my neighbor for maintenance?  Some of the boards, especially with the wet weather over the past year are beginning to rot near the grassline, I was thinking of replacing it before it got too hot out.  Does anyone have any good contact for inexpensive (good quality) replacement?  I called the guy who put in the fences in the neighborhood originally (Esterday), but he's really expensive.

Why put up a new fence! I thought the gas company was going to put one up along Trinity  what happened to that?

I mean individual properties, the wooden fence that goes around everyone's back yard.  My house is nowhere near the border of the neighborhood, so I could not be able to share in a brick/concrete fence on one side of my property.

With regard to the concrete fence around the neighborhood, the HOA let all of us down again, they didn't press the new lease company to finish their leases, they only had a handful (literally) of houses to do and didn't press to get the fence done.  Our neighborhood looks lie sh*t along Trinity, like a white-trash trailer park.  I've not seen much from our HOA in the last 2 years, I don't expect I'm going to bother paying the voluntary dues anymore, it's a waste.

I know we've been really fortunate when we've had a fence concern, all three of our neighbors have split the cost of fence repairs.  I think that A and A Fencing did our last job...it's been a while.  I remember it being a toss up between A and A and The Fence Company.  We were VERY satisfied with the results.  While it was a bit more expensive than do it yourself, the fence is solid and still looks great.  Plus if your neighbor will go in 50/50, the cost might be a bit more bearable.  My only regret with our fence is that we didn't choose to spend a bit more and have concrete at the base of the fence.
