Garage assessments - is this news to you? Were you aware of this assessment when you purchased your unit? Was it discueed at the annual homeowners meeting? Is a contribution of 65% of the amount to the reserve fund reasonable? Should the amount (if any) be the same for garages that are inside the units as that for external attached garages? Single versus double? Was the justification for it reasonable? What do you think about it?

Garage Assessments

As you now know, the special assessment has been cancelled. This leaves us with some unaswered questions. Is the old assessment really correct? It is true that we don't have the detached garages that were blamed for requiring the special assessment. But, we now have the attached garages that are outside of the living space and have their own roofs. A close look at the reserve plan by the owners should be done in light of this change and the lack of an indication that a new analysis has been done (and correctly this time?) I will request KB and MSI to let me participate in this. The method and clarity of communication to the owners and including us in decisions is still lacking.
