Is there anything we can do about the children waiting at the bus stop with their feet in the street? You cannot see them once you turn the corner and I'm scared I will run over their feet. I guess it is hard to stand up, but it is a real safety issue.......I don't believe you are legally allowed to sit in a public road like that. I have seen parents standing there, so I know they feel it is ok, but it is not legal and it is not safe, so we need to make a change. I contacted the schools in question, who indicated that the concern should be addressed with the school board, but I am confident that we could remedy the situation without their involvement. Maybe the parents can chip in and buy a bench, or wait at the bus stop so the kids could sit in the car. Whatever the case I would appreciate some type of resolve instead of some type of accident involving a child.

Where is this happening?
You failed to mention exactly what corner this is happening on. I feel that the children could use at the minimum here a bench, but what about also including some type of sheltered bench area like the bus stops have? Maybe we could get a local business to help out with this? Please, give more info so we might help.

Sitting in the street, bustop
I have not seen this bus stop and there are two different entrances that I know of. I do know that the bus driver lives right near Half Moon Lake, I spoke to her one time while riding my bike around the neighborhood. Maybe I can have a talk with her, make a trip to her house to see her. In the meantime, have you stopped and spoken to the parents at this bus stop and discussed the dangers with them? Maybe you might want to call a sheriff out to talk to them, make a 'danger' report. Worth a try. Let me know how it goes, I'll stay in touch here also.
