okay parents of children being picked up/dropped off at the entrance, i know you guys are trying to keep your kids safe by waiting at the bus stop with them, i get it, but are you unable to walk them there.....if its a time issue, i get that as well, but the unorganized nature of the bus stop activity causes others time loss too. the area up front is just not meant to accommodate a bunch of parked cars...... you should be parking on rawls lining up that way or on a street lining up, not blocking the median and entrance and parking partly on the grass. parking in the median puts your neighbors trying to come and go in danger.
of the cars parking all over the place, not all are illegally parked, but some are and most of the others are parked illogically at best.
i guess the parents dont want to stand at the actual bus stop, rather wait in the comfort of their cars, but the fact is there is not room for that.....when the bus gets there, here come the goodbyes, the gathering of the belongings, kids coming from every direction out of cars parked everywhere, some kids dont watch where they are walking, my husband had one run in front of the car the other afternoon......all the while turning something that should take a minute or two into a much longer and dangerous process for everyone.
Do we even discuss bus stop behavior and etiquette with students anymore ? When i went to carrollwood elementary as a child, they had a little class segment on bus stop behavior/ efficiency. they gave us pamphlets to take home to show our parents.. they also taught phone etiquette and the like...... your supposed to be standing at the "bus stop" ready to go, not 30 feet away sitting in a car....I am not wanting to jeopardize my safety or time, so parents can sit in the comfort of their cars, am i wrong here ? is anyone else feeling this way ?
